Celebrate Whitney Houston, the Everlasting Every Woman

Celebrate Whitney Houston's birthday with song We celebrate Whitney Houston, legendary singer, actress, and inspiration on her birthday, today.

“I decided long ago, never to walk in anyone’s shadows
If I fail, if I succeed, at least I did as I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can’t take away my dignity…”

Whitney Houston was a model, singer, actress, and producer who was known for her beauty, her voice, and her amazing talent. It’s no wonder then that The Guinness World Records cited Whitney Houston as the most awarded female act of all time.

As a teenager, the hardworking Houston got her start by singing backup vocals, first for her mom who performed in various nightclubs, then for the albums of other legends such as Chaka Khan and Jermaine Jackson. She was also tapped to be a model for fashion magazines then later became a product endorser for Canada Dry.

Record producers already recognized her immense talent but Houston’s mom wanted her to finish high school first.

She eventually signed her first record contract in 1983 and released her introductory album in 1985. The rest is history because the multiple record-breaking success of her singles and albums simply speak for themselves.
