Celebrity Chocolate Lovers: Andy Warhol and Lucille Ball

Celebrity Chocolate Lover #1: Andy Warhol

Andy Warhol must have been a real chocolate lover!

When he was a child, his mother, an artist, encouraged his artistic inclinations by giving him a chocolate bar each time he finished coloring an entire coloring book page.

From those humble beginnings, he honed his craft and became one of the leading figures in the Pop Art craze. His works include some of the most expensive paintings ever sold.

Celebrity Chocolate Lover #2: Lucille Ball

Lucille Ball birthday

We’d also like to celebrate another celebrity chocolate lover’s birthday. Lucille Ball was an  American comedienne, model, award-winning film actress, and studio executive best known for her work in I Love Lucy, The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour, The Lucy Show, Here’s Lucy, and  Life with Lucy.

Lucille Ball 2 I Love Lucy

She was not only a pioneer  for women in comedy entertainment but also a pioneer for women in the television industry.  More than just an actress, Lucille Ball was the first woman to run a major television studio, Desilu, which produced a number of popular television shows including Star Trek, Mission Impossible, and The Andy Griffith Show.

We pay tribute to this celebrity chocolate lover on her on her birthday by featuring two video clips. The first shows one of her iconic scenes from season 2 of her TV show, I Love Lucy. Coincidentally it has to do with chocolate which has become the impromptu theme of the blog post today. Please check out the clip. She is absolutely hilarious in it.

This second video is a tribute clip by her ex-husband, Desi Arnaz, with whom she eloped in 1940. It is a touching clip, which shows Desi fondly walking down memory lane talking about his favorite moments with Lucille Ball, including the moment she revealed that she was pregnant with their first child.

At Everlasting Footprint, telling the stories of the lives of loved ones is what we believe helps preserve their legacy. Being a chocolate lover is a small part of someone’s identity, but it is the small parts that make us human.
