Tribute to Henry Ford

Henry Ford, Ford Motor Company

“The only true test of values – either of men or of things – is that of their ability to make the world a better place in which to live.” — Henry Ford

Henry Ford was responsible for transforming an automobile from a simple invention to a manufacturing innovation. As an American industrialist and the founder of the Ford Motor Company, he was one of the first to apply assembly line manufacturing and turn it into mass production. The mass production of automobiles gave rise to the new middle class by  supplying numerous factory jobs to citizens and facilitated the move from farms to cities. He also was the first of his time to give wages of $5/day as a method of keeping workers loyal to his company.

His legacy is not just evident in his pioneering of an industrial revolution or in the fact that cars (and Ford motors, in particular) are still being utilized today, but also in his insightful outlook on life. 67 years after his passing, many of his one-liners are still quoted as business advice and success mantras even until now.

Today would have been his 151st birthday, and we celebrate him by paying tribute to one of his own inspirational quotes. We think it’s an appropriate choice for a man who left his mark on the world and made it a better place to live.
